The first two to go will be the apple tree closest the house and the plum tree. We began by cutting off all the brances and then most of the trunk but we got no photos of that stage.

On the other hand, it feels like so much more than five months! Now it’s time for our little boy to get a year older and we decided to celebrate with a big party :) My mum and little sister Jess (who is also Carl’s godmother) came over for the weekend to join us. Luckily the weather changed from horrid to sunny.

Everyone was invited to drop in any time between 1400 and 1900. Almost 60 people came!

Fifteen minutes before the party was due to end, Åsa’s brother and his girlfriend arrived. They ended up staying till nearly two in the morning. It was a lot of fun!

The next day we had to tidy up and then went to Ulriksdal to the big garden centre there. It was a lovely sunny day…

Then on the Monday, Jess and mum had to go home. It was nice to have them and we’ll see them again soon we hope.

The first job was to get us to Ireland which, of course, meant taking a plane. Not one of Åsa’s favourite activities. Luckily it went very well :)

On the second day our friends John and Tanya and their kids Jessica ad James came over on the boat from Scotland. The weather was lovely so we went for a walk along the beach in Holywood followed by some time in the play park.

The whole Walker / Dalton / Clarkson clan also went for a walk. This time at Crawfordsburn Country Park where I played a lot when I was wee.

On Saturday there was a party for all our friends and family to meet Carl and welcome him to the family and to Ireland.

On Easter Sunday it was time for presents and chocolate…

Then it was time for lunch. There were so many of us that we decided to go to a restaurant instead of making lunch at home.

After Easter Sunday lunch it was time for Jude, James and Arthur to head back to Leeds. Carl was very sad to see his cousin go. To cheer him up we took him out for a day at the wildlife sanctuary.

On the way back we stopped off at my cousin Allister’s so Carl could meet him and his family.

Belfast has finally realised there is money to be made out of the Titanic. Sadly the new exhibition was booked solid for the time we were there. Oh well, there’s always next time!
